| The door knob rattled before stopping.
"Almost...."
Another set of rattling before a click was heard, followed by a childish whoop from what could only be a child. The brass knob turned slowly to reveal the mischievous boy who had the nerves to enter a place no students were allowed.
The Professors' Lounge.
"Nothing too c-- oooooo," Jayson's attention was diverted, spotting what could only be one of his professor's notebooks sitting on the table. Grinning widely, the child scampered over to the table and stood up on his tiptoes, little arms attempting to reach his target. |

| The blond boy stood behind the shorter boy curious as to what he was doing. Deciding to have some fun and because he too had been tempted by the open door of where the teachers gathered, Titus crept up as quietly as he could. Like when his dad had gotten home late and didn't want mum to know that he was late.
standing on tiptoes, he craned his head as he tried to see what the other boy was doing. A wicked smile on his face, Titus reached out and tapped the boy on the shoulder. "What are you doing?" He had to use proper speech. Other wise he'd get reprimanded at home if his parents heard him. And the teachers didn't like it either. |

| He could see the book slowly coming towards him, obediently sliding underneath the barest of his fingertips' touch. Just as he was reaching to pull the book down to his level, he felt a tap upon his shoulders. Unexpected of the human contact, the child gave a start strong enough that he felt himself stumble, the book crashing down on his head as he brought a hand up to clutch his now smarting noggin.
Jayson turned around, expecting to see a teacher here to reprimand him, only to realize he could see the perpetrator at his eye level, though this boy looked a little bit taller than him. Jayson rubbed at his head with his lower lip jutted out and trembling slightly.
"s'that for?" He asked. "S'not nice to scare me."

| Titus laughed when the book fell. It was funny and he said so. "It was funny..."
Peering at what the other boy wanted he asked, "What's that?"
Titus also glanced behind him then went to shut the door. That way they had time to hide and they couldn't be snuck up on. Looking around he felt let down. Grown ups here were boooooring! His expression said as much. Sighing, he pulled out some sweets and after a thought held out the bag towards the other. "Jelly baby?" |

| Jayson crossed his arms in response. He found no humor in being the victim of a book hitting his poor head. He said nothing in retaliation though, knowing his father might not appreciate Jayson getting in trouble for his mouth again. He inclined his head partially to the right, watching the other boy turn and closed the door before he could even answer his question.
"Was a teacher's book I think," he commented, bending down and scooping the notebook up. His eyes slowly trailed each word, sounding it out silently, before he realized what it said. "I think it's the review stuff about the classes?" He said, looking up to find a bag being held out to him.
Thankfully taking a candy, he looked at it. "What'sa jelly baby?" He didn't think he ever had one, his dad not a fan of sweets and Jayson going together. |

| Eyes going wide, Titus itched to look at the book. His daddy always said if you were going to cheat or break the rules then be smart. If you were stupid about it then you shouldn't bother. Edging closer he wondered, "For who? Not us?"
Bitting into the gummie he quickly swallowed. "Candy. It's good. I'm only allowed the one bag and not to tell my dad." The last was said sadly.
Scrunching up his face he wondered how anyone could be so stingy with sweets. They were the best thing ever! |
